Chair
This lounge chair feels both sculptural and inviting—its continuous curves wrap around the body in a way that feels fluid and grounded at the same time. The charred interior surfaces, finished with shou sugi ban, deepen the contrast between inner and outer, pulling the eye into shadow and space. A bright turquoise stripe arcs across the surface like a graphic gesture, playful but intentional, adding a sense of motion and rhythm to an otherwise solid form.
Behind that softness is a precise build: the entire chair is CNC milled from a single sheet of ¾” plywood, with every piece carefully nested to reduce waste. Interlocking ribs form the internal structure, while exposed fasteners and edge laminations reflect the raw honesty of the material. It’s a balance of efficiency and craft—where digital fabrication meets hand-finished detail.
